Akron Aeros another step closer to championship

Akron is one step closer to having a championship team. Tonight at Canal Park, the Akron Aeros won the Western Division playoffs against the Bowie Baysox 5-2.

 

Aeros starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco in Akron on a Major League rehab start pitched a flawless first inning, getting two Baysox to strike out. The Aeros drew first blood as they scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning.

 

The Aeros bats woke up tonight as they erupted for 10 hits as they defeated the Bowie Baysox. Brett Brach pitched well for the Aeros as he recorded the win. Closer Preston Guilmet pitched a flawless ninth inning to record his third save in as many nights.

 

There were 1,335 fans here at Canal Park. The Akron Aeros host the Trenton Thunder Sept. 11 at Canal Park.
