Tonight at Canal Park, the Akron Aeros won 3 to 0 in game one of the Eastern League Championship playoffs. Aeros starter Paulo Espino pitched 7 innings of 2 hit ball against the Thunder.
Aeros center fielder Tyler Holt hit the ball hard tonight as he hit a triple and a single as the Aeros garnered 7 hits against good Thunder pitching. Closer Preston Guilmet came in to finish off Trenton in the ninth inning to gain his fourth consecutive save in post season for the Aeros.
There were 1,620 here at Canal Park. Game two of the Eastern League Championship is here in Akron tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. It will be Shaeffer Hall of Trenton versus Danny Salazar for Akron.
