Episode 10 and finale of season 1 of Web series "The Amerikans" debuts at Summit Artspace May 18

Art+Practice, a cinema site and film development company, announces the release of "Human Paintbrush," episode 10 and the closing installment of the first season of a web series available free online.

"Human Paintbrush" shares the worldview and artwork of Don Matis, a Hudson-based painter inspired by spiritual faith and talent to create original and striking canvases using his own body as an instrument of composition. Matis' life and work challenge our preconceptions about where lines are drawn, not only between artist and art, but also between suffering and healing, isolation and sharing.

Special Event: "Human Paintbrush" will have its world premiere May 18, at 7 p.m. at Summit Art Space, at 140 East Market St. in downtown Akron. The event is sponsored by Akron Film+Pixel. Matis' work will be on display, and he and filmmakers Mika Johnson and Jeffrey Pence will be present. Also to be shown are previous episodes of "The Amerikans."
