The Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron hosted its 12th annual CBHS gala Sept. 15. The event is Pawsibilities' largest fundraiser. Donors, city officials, volunteers and adoptable animals walked the red carpet in support for pets awaiting homes. About 200 people attended the gala and Judge Mary Spicer was recognized for being an "Animal Hero" for her dedication to animals and the Pawsibilities organization. Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron is a nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates sick, stray, abused and neglected animals of Summit County. Roughly 2,000 animals come through Pawsibilities each year and stay with them until they find their "furever" home.
