Bikers, families and community supporters recently gathered for the 21st Annual Children’s Caravan Teddy Bear Run, which ran from Adventure Harley-Davidson in Dover to Akron Children’s Hospital.
Penny Martin, organizer and coordinator of the Children’s Caravan Teddy Bear Ride, spearheads this annual event in order to give back to the hospital that took care of her son, David, who received treatment for a heart condition at Akron Children’s Hospital when he was 8.
Along with donations of stuffed animals, the ride helps raise money for children facing rare genetic disorders and diseases, along with raising awareness for these conditions.
For the 2015 event, the group acknowledged three special needs “Caravan Kids” and their families:
Ally Miller, Missy, Jeff & family
Bryce Goedel, Danielle, Rob & family
Logan Miller, Stephanie, Duane & family
The entire event was capture and produced by Clyde McDaniel and his film crew.
