Building off the success of last year’s inaugural Akron Ale Fest, the event organizers, with the partnership of the city of Akron, are returning to the Trolley Barn downtown on August 12, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The fest, which is focused on promoting and highlighting the creativity and passion of breweries in Akron and in the surrounding region, will include craft breweries from greater Akron and beyond, a variety of local cuisine including food trucks, and beer-themed merch from local artists and makers.
Ticketholders will be able to sample beers and chat with representatives from established breweries, like Thirsty Dog Brewing Co, Hoppin Frog Brewery and Ohio Brewing Co, alongside new businesses such as HiHO Brewing, Wadsworth Brewing Company and Magic City Brewing Company. Although the fest focuses primarily on Akron-area establishments, some regional breweries will be featured too, like The Butcher & The Brewer in downtown Cleveland and Birdfish Brewing Co from Columbiana, Ohio.
The fest will take place outside under the canopy of the historic Trolley Barn in the heart of downtown Akron, where the Historic Arts District meets the Northside.
This event is being presented by Crafty Mart, a local arts organization that is taking its creative events skills to the craft beer market. Crafty Mart is building off of the following it has built over the past seven years by tapping into the arts, craft and maker communities.
