After tallying more than 3,300 votes, results of the 2014 Akron Art Prize sponsored by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation are in. Results were announced Oct. 4 at the finale celebration at the Akron Art Museum
Congratulations to all participating artists and thank you for your time and commitment to this exciting arts experience in Downtown Akron.
First Place: Lisa Demagall, “Between Here and There” receives $5,000 and the honor of displaying her winning artwork at the Akron Art Museum from Oct. 6-14.
Runners up each receive $1,000
1st runner up: Brittani Austin, Serpent of the Self
2nd runner up: Tom Baldwin, Twin Reapers
3rd runner up: Megan Shane, The Tree of Life
4th runner up: Lake Light, J. David Norton
5th runner up: On the Fence, Casy Vogt
Nearly 160 artists participated with the public casting votes (up to 5 votes per person) via the new Akron Art Prize app and tablet kiosks in five downtown venues. A total of 3,328 votes were cast over 29 days. Thank you to all who participated, visited the galleries – and voted!
