Open house takes place Nov. 3 and 4
— In August of 2016, Akron Glass Works moved to its new location in an historic 1930s Presbyterian church on Spicer Street, after spending 10 years in the downtown Northside District. This move allowed the company to double the size of its studio and gallery spaces.
The glass studio and gallery is expanding by opening a new event space in the sanctuary upstairs for holiday parties, weddings, receptions and corporate events. Plans for artist studios and creative space rentals also are in the works for Spring of 2019. The public is invited to view the newly renovated space during an open house, Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4 from noon to 5 p.m.
Visitors may tour the space and pick up information on hall and room rental. The gallery will be open and glassblowing workshops will be going on in the Akron Glass Works space on the lower level.
