Ron White has carved out a promising position in the local arts scene — itself an exciting time time for all artists. White won the 2012 inaugural Akron Art Prize for his sculpture work, which is a surreal and vivid exploration of the human form. White, who’s also a yoga instructor, among a number of other activities, creates renditions of comically twisted expressions, and people that appear to come to life.
White recently sat down with Akronist TV in his studio at Summit Artspace, itself part of a growing movement and the sign of a promising time, sharing part of his personal journey and success as a working artist. He says it’s important to find a balance between business and art. To stay updated on Ron White’s work, check out ronwhiteart.com.
