Akron’s largest charitable Halloween event, the 13th Annual Halloween Charity Ball, presented by Ashton, Wartko & Wilgus, Attorneys at Law, will take place Friday, Oct. 28, from 8 p.m. to midnight at The Tangier.
The event includes a $500 costume contest grand prize, complements of Gavin Scott Salon and Spa. The costume contest will be open to all who self-register by 9:30 p.m. at the event, and will be judged by special guest judges.
The Ball also includes a DJ dance party, open bar, VIP experience and food throughout the night. All proceeds benefit the two local charities Akron Snow Angels and Young Black Professionals Coalition (YBPC). Akron Snow Angels “Spread the Warmth” by providing the the less fortunate with warm clothing, blankets, toiletries and lunch. The Young Black Professionals Coalition is focused on the personal, professional and social development of future leaders, including high school and college students. YBPC is focused on improving the minority community by providing tools to enhance one’s overall wellness through a variety of workshops, social activities and continuous education.

The event also includes a raffle, which includes two Ohio State vs. Michigan football game tickets, a condo stay in Myrtle Beach or a $500 Visa gift card, provided by Gavin Scott Salon and Spa. The community may purchase tickets online and winners do not need to be present at the Ball.

The mission behind the Halloween Charity Ball is to provide a method of raising funds to support local charities and organizations. The Halloween Charity Ball’s committee is dedicated to providing for the needs of local not-for-profit organizations that help individuals in our community. The Halloween Charity Ball committee is particularly interested in organizations that serve children, community wellness and individuals with special needs.
