The Myers School of Art announces its new Art Bomb Brigade project (funded by the Knight Foundation). The project involves the construction of a 3,000-square-foot mural at the funky Downtown Laundromat of 1035 S. Main St.
Art students from UA and local high school students with the Arts LIFT program will work with Matt Miller, Myers alumnus, to paint the mural, which is taking place through June 24.
The public is invited to visit the team on site as the project unfolds and to join them for a righteous party on July 8 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Downtown Laundromat to celebrate the unveiling of Akron’s next great piece of public art.
The free party will feature lots of food, art, vintage goods, handmade art and wearables, t-shirt vendors and surf, punk, rock jams from local band The Dreemers.
