Auditions for “The Velveteen Rabbit” will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 16 from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at The Akron Center for Art, Music, & Performance, located at 118 W. Market St. • Akron, OH 44303.
Each audition will last approximately 15 minutes. Performers should prepare a 60 – 90-second memorized poem or monologue. Headshots and resumes are welcome, but not required.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
“Once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
True love comes in many forms– many of which are not romantic-type loves. “The Velveteen Rabbit” is a story about the transformative power of love and the magic of childhood. Through Wandering Aesthetics unique approach to theatre-making, the young artists will have the opportunity to work as an ensemble to help adapt the classic story by Margery Williams (which was one inspiration for the beloved “Toy Story” franchise).
Wandering Aesthetics’ 2018 youth adaptation of “The Jungle Book” was nominated for 11 Ohio Youth Arts Awards, including “Best Play” and “Best Director”.
