Bath Community Fund leaders are gearing up for the fund’s third annual meeting, where they will join supporters and local residents in celebrating the achievements of the philanthropic endowment and showcase its first grant recipients. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 30, at 5 p.m. at Victory Gallop, located at 1745 N. Hametown Road.
“It’s exciting to see how much Bath Community Fund has grown in less than three years,” said Nancy Fay, BCF Advisory Board vice president. “This is just our third annual meeting and the first since awarding BCF’s first-ever grants.”
The fund awarded its first grants totaling $14,500 in November 2016. Guests at the annual meeting will have the opportunity to meet representatives from the grant recipient organizations and learn their plans for using their grants to benefit people throughout the Bath community. In addition, Victory Gallop will offer a live demonstration of its therapeutic horseback riding program for children with special needs.
The meeting will also include the election of the fund’s slate of advisory board members and introduce the co-chairs of the “For Bath, Forever” endowment campaign, which aspires to raise $2.018 million by Bath Township’s bicentennial in 2018.
“We have set an ambitious goal – raising $2 million – but the Bath community has taken its community fund to heart and understands the legacy the fund is creating,” Fay said. “As we celebrate Bath’s 200th birthday next year, we are committed to and confident about raising that money to ensure the fund’s promise to our community.”
Established in June 2014 by a group of committed Bath residents, Bath Community Fund is a permanent charitable fund dedicated to strengthening the Bath community for current and future generations by providing leadership, fostering collaboration, and creating a legacy of charitable giving. The fund, which is an affiliate of Akron Community Foundation, is committed to reinforcing and preserving Bath’s historical and environmental legacy, supporting the many local nonprofits in Bath, responding to community needs, and helping the less fortunate in the community.
Donors, supporters and members of the general public are invited to attend the annual meeting. Refreshments will be served. The meeting will be held in the barn at Victory Gallop, so guests are advised to dress accordingly.
