Dust off your clubs and ready your swing for one of the first outings of the season, the Birdies, Brats & Beer Golf Outing. The four-person, shotgun scramble will take place Sunday, May 20, at Mayfair Country Club in Green.
The event will benefit The Dane Foundation, which provides for the unique needs of individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
These unique needs include quality of life items like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products, hygiene items and other needs not covered by insurance, food stamps or other human service organizations.
The day will begin with registration and a hot breakfast buffet between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. A shotgun start, contests and more will happen throughout the 18-hole game. A lunch buffet will be waiting at the turn and is included in the golfer’s price. Beverages will be served all day.
The event closes with an awards party with hors d’oeuvres, and, of course, contests, cash and prizes. Golfers are encouraged to join as individuals or teams of up to four. Golfer’s fees are $75 per person or $300 for a foursome. Fees include all of the above, golf, and cart.
“This outing is fun for all ages and levels of golfers,” said event chairperson Harry Lester.
“The Mayfair course is beautiful, the food and beverages are fantastic and our outing is one of the first of the season designed to benefit a great cause,” said Sam Frankina, event co-chair. Organizers are still seeking sponsors to cover event costs, cart sponsors, hole sponsors, and prize donations for golfers.
Mayfair Country Club is located at 2229 Raber Road. To register for the outing, provide a door or raffle prize donation, or event sponsorship, contact The Dane Foundation at (330) 703-1183 or via email at [email protected]. For info, visit www.TheDaneFoundation.org.
