Creative Expressions Brain Injury Support Group will provide a forum for creative expressions, like visual and performing arts. The group meets Thursday, Nov. 10, 6 p.m., at Summa Rehab Hospital, 29 N. Adams St. in downtown Akron.
The group will meet every second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.
Creative Expressions helps traumatic brain injury survivors, caregivers and family members by providing mental, physical and spiritual support in coping with the changes they face after injury.
The support group provides a forum to share ideas and discuss experiences in a supportive setting, with healthy coping strategies to improve quality of life. The series will incorporate creative expressions like painting, drawing, poetry, writing, acting, singing, dance and music and art therapy as forms of healing, problem-solving, encouragement, memory techniques and opportunities to build connections while receiving community support.
This group is presented by Hidden Treasures, whose main goal is to help people focus on a healthy mind, body and spirit through creative expressions.
