Connect2Akron (c2a) is an event seeking to connect college students, recent graduates and young professionals with nonprofit organizations in the Greater Akron region. This free event is open to the public and will take place Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at EJ Thomas Performing Arts Hall.
The event aims to provide mutual support – engaging non-profits and emerging young leaders.
“It’s an opportunity for like-minded volunteers and young professionals to come together under one roof to connect with the community. The event provides an opportunity to interact with more than 40 area nonprofits, which are looking for the next generation of help in order to leave a lasting, positive impact on our community,” said Brian Berg, co-chair of c2a.
Additionally, c2a brings together a wide range of young professionals for an evening of engagement and networking.
“On top of speaking with local nonprofits, this is an excellent way to make connections with other young professionals who are doing great things in our community,” explained Karen Cheung, co-chair of c2a.
Visit c2akron.org for more information, including registration for attendees, as well as non-profits.
This event is sponsored by the Knight Foundation and involves a collaborative effort among the following organizations: Akron Urban League Young Professionals, Heart to Heart Communications Emerging Leaders, Rubber City Jews, Torchbearers, Young Black Professionals Coalition, Young Professionals of Akron and the Young Professionals Network of the Greater Akron Chamber.
