Sponsored by the Friends of Hower House, we invite you to the final lecture in the series on the care and preservation of selected pieces in our museum collection along with practical tips for care of your own personal collectibles. The speaker is Wendy Partridge, Paintings Conservator, from the Intermuseum Conservation Association (ICA) in Cleveland. This lecture will point out resources that help people better understand their own paintings and she will suggest simple preventive conservation methods for ensuring that paintings are well taken care of.

Wendy Partridge is a Paintings Conservator at ICA Art Conservation in Cleveland. She has a graduate degree in Paintings Conservation with an M.A. in Art History from the Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. She will discuss examples from contemporary, modern and old master paintings that she has examined and treated. In particular, she will highlight what conservators think about when they examine paintings and how owners and custodians might benefit from “thinking like a conservator.”
