The mission of Akron Rotary Camp is to “Create a world where there are only abilities!”
Founded in 1924, the camp serves children and adults with disabilities through summer camp and year round respite programs. Over 1,700 campers were served in 2015. Campers participate in traditional and classic camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, campfires, songs, crafts, games, and much more. It is through these programs that campers build social skills, self-care skills, and independence. Additionally, camp provides opportunities for parents and caregivers to receive respite and child care.
