Countryside Conservancy’s Howe Meadow Farmers’ Market this weekend will include handmade gifts, along with fresh, local sustainable food.
The Pop-Up Crafty Mart will join Countryside Conservancy this Saturday, Aug. 8, 9 a.m. to noon, with additional tents at the Farmers’ Market in Howe Meadow, with 15 additional vendors offering artisan goods including handmade rag dolls, hand-printed T-shirts, and unique sterling silver jewelry.
Crafty Mart, referred to as “the idiosynCRAFTic fair” has been hosting events since 2009, giving Akronites a place to shop small and local artists and makers a platform to sell their goods. Its purpose is to provide creative and engaging opportunities for artists and community members to foster artistic, thoughtful and community-focused lifestyles.
Crafty Mart’s events have been named “Best of the City” by Akronlife Magazine and “Favorite Place to Do Your Holiday Shopping” by Akron Empire.
Also on Aug. 8, Countryside is offering a Craft Cocktails class focusing on whiskey. Celebrated Cleveland bartender Lorilei Bailey, of Spice Kitchen + Bar, will teach a class about incorporating seasonal fruits and vegetables into brunch cocktails. The class is $20 per person, and includes two beverages. Advance registration is recommended. (Click here to register.)
Howe Meadow is located at 4040 Riverview Road, in Peninsula.
