What started as a way to clear the historic Glendale steps for a food forest became a unique event, with music, family-friendly activities and local leaders. The centerpiece was a group of four-legged landscapers. Community activists Karen Edwards and Tom Crain presented the idea of bringing goats to downtown Akron to help clear poison ivy and other weeds. The goats were provided by “J.Z.’s Wild Bunch” 4H Club of Summit County, with help from Akron firefighters. Here’s a look at this recent event, also known as the Great Glendale Goat Graze.
