The East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation (EANDC) recently unveiled the Arlington Veterans Housing Project, an $800,000 building rehab project which will now house homeless veterans.
“While we are proud of every single development we have built and every property we manage, this might be the most noble endeavor EANDC has ever undertaken,” said EANDC President and CEO, Grady Appleton. “Veterans’ homelessness is a national problem. Homeless veterans live in every community in the nation. While we cannot fix that problem everywhere we can be a part of the solution here. EANDC is determined to help give Akron’s heroes a home.”
The Arlington Veterans Housing Project will provide 10 units of housing for veterans who are homeless and have a special need. This project will provide more than just housing. Through the project development partners, each veteran will have on-site case management to coordinate supportive services.
