East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation’s (EANDC) longtime President and Chief Executive Officer Grady P. Appleton, will retire at the end of 2017 after 35 years with the organization.
A search firm will be hired to help acquire candidates for the position. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the transition committee, and Appleton will work alongside the selected candidate for several months to ensure a smooth changeover in leadership.
Under Appleton’s leadership, EANDC has led dozens of successful projects impacting the lives of individuals and families in urban communities, including the thriving Middlebury Market Plaza and the Village at New Seasons, a mixed use retail and senior apartment complex.
Appleton stated, “The community has a lot invested in EANDC and my life’s work has been here. I want to be sure that EANDC’s success continues to thrive.”
