Spent
Sun shines thru the dirty window,
dust dances on the stale air.
This dwelling is my existence,
not by chance; only despair.
I sit here incomplete,
the sum of my being.
Decades of arrogance
bring to light
Opportunity
I hadn’t been
seeing.
In my dark world
things are so ill
and brutally deceiving
I live this life….
as time just spent
only in disbelieving….
My soul forlorn
and my heart bitterly grieving.
