Grand opening begins Oct. 22
Two area food trucks are combining their efforts for a new brick and mortar location in Norton. The Funky Truckeria, the result of a partnership between Steve Sabo of the Orange Truk and Juan Gonzalez of Wholly Frijoles, will offer a fast casual venue.
Menu items will be a collaboration between the two chefs and will feature some of their top truck items, like Ahi Tuna Tostadas, Truk Balls, craft nachos and modern tacos. One first generation Italian and the other from Mexico City, their respective cultures have greatly shaped and influenced their cooking styles. Both have worked extensively in Southern California among other food influencing locations and bring their collective authentic fare to Northeastern Ohio with a gastro-cuisine twist.
The grand opening weekend begins on Oct. 22. The restaurant will be open Thursday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. with hours and days of the week to expand as needed. The menu will be dynamic with some items likely becoming everyday staples, while others rotate, based on fresh ingredients and season.
The dining room seats up to 40 people and takeout also will be available. Drinks to include bottled Mexican and craft sodas. The Funky Truckeria is available for private events on off days.
