This weekend will be a busy one at Hardesty Park, starting with the 12th Annual Taste of Akron, July 27, a wine and beer tasting July 28, and the Akron Arts Expo July 29 and 30.
12th Annual Taste of Akron
Thursday, July 27, 6 to 10 p.m.
Over 20 area restaurants along with eight gourmet food trucks will offer food samples during the Taste of Akron, which includes samples of appetizers, entrées and desserts, along with the band Mo Mojo, from 6 to 9 p.m. Food samples will be available for 1, 2 or 3 tickets. Tickets are available for $2 each. Food tickets sales will begin at 5:30 p.m. Parking and admission are free and cash, VISA and MasterCard accepted. The Taste of Akron is sponsored by American Wood Reface.
19th Annual Summer Uncorked! Wine & Beer Tasting
Friday, July 28, 6 to 9 p.m.
Over 150 premium wines and beers will be featured at the Uncorked! Wine & Beer Tasting, along with a sampling of hors d’oeuvres from caterer Robert J. Events. The event also features an array of silent auction items, including original artwork from the Akron Arts Expo artists and an assortment of unique items from local businesses. Live entertainment by Sausalito Trio will be provided. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at www.AkronArtsExpo.org. Summer Uncorked! 38th Annual Akron Arts Expo

The Akron Arts Expo celebrates the creativity of over 150 juried exhibitors from across the country. The Akron Arts Expo is a free, family-friendly weekend event and draws over 20,000 patrons to the Akron area. It features live entertainment throughout the day, including a 3 p.m. performance by Akron Big Band on Sunday. A free shuttle service will be available from the WAKR/WONE/WQMX east side parking lot at 1795 W. Market St. Updates on all Akron Arts Expo activities will be available throughout the weekend thanks to media sponsor WAKR/WONE/WQMX.
The interactive Children’s Tent will feature local organizations such as Café O’Play, The Akron Children’s Museum, Akron Summit County Public Library, Hale Farm and Village, Akron Fossils and Science Center and Pat Catan’s Craft Centers providing fun activities for kids.
Attendees may bid on silent auction inside the Expo Tent throughout the weekend, and artwork from all of the Akron Arts Expo artists will be showcased during the Silent Auction. Auction closing times are noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
There will be entertainment and organizations offering activities throughout the weekend. The Expo Tent also will include community booths, pet adoptions and other activities. Heidelberg Distributing Company will offer food and wine pairings on Saturday with Crave Cantina at 2 p.m. and on Sunday with Moe’s Restaurant at 2 p.m. in the Expo Tent. There will also be Sip & Paint under the Expo Tent on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m., where attendees may take a painting class while enjoying a glass of wine. Patrons will take home their masterpiece along with a complimentary wine glass.
