Summit County Children Services is sponsoring a free Foster Care and Adoption Information Meeting on Monday, February 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Firestone Park Branch Library, 1486 Aster Ave., Akron.
As of the end of January, 45 children in agency custody were waiting to be adopted. Area residents who attend the information meeting will learn a variety of details about the foster care and adoption process, what kind of support is provided by the agency, and the minimal costs involved with adopting a child through a public agency such as Summit County Children Services (NOTE: SCCS charges no fees for adoption services). Agency staff will be available to share basic information about the children coming into care.
This event is free and open to the entire community and reservations are not needed. For information, call (330) 379-2055.
