Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties is now managing the bus pass service assistance program for Summit County-area agencies after The Metro Assistance Group dissolved in December 2015.
The new program is now accepting applications from agencies in Summit County that have contact with individuals who may benefit from assistance as well as qualifies as exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
“We hope the support of the bus pass program will provide individuals in our community a better opportunity to remove barriers they may experience,” said Gregory Morton, vice president, mission services & public relations, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “Goodwill is pleased to continue the legacy Lynn Miller of The Metro Assistance Group (MAG) created over the years in providing support through the bus pass program. With Goodwill’s mission being to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment, we appreciated MAGs efforts in assisting our clients with transportation. We understand helping an individual in gaining self-sufficiency is a collaborative effort among many agencies and we look forward to continuing the partnerships MAG held within the community.”
