The public is invited to attend the Growing Hope Summer Celebration Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crouse Community Learning Center, 1000 Diagonal Road. As an educational program of the Summit Food Policy Coalition, Growing Hope offers quarterly programs on sustainable gardening and healthy eating to Northeast Ohio residents.
The event’s theme is “Lessons From the Garden: It’s Never Too Late to Plant,” and will feature a short presentation on late season planting, a tour of the school’s garden, a salsa contest and prizes. Bring your favorite homemade salsa or snack to share.
