The Hudson High School “Swing” Marching Band and the Cuyahoga Falls “Tiger” Marching Band will host blood drives to support the American Red Cross & the raise funds for their individual music programs.
“Battle of the Bands – Blood & Bucks” is a friendly competition between bands to support the American Red Cross and raise funds to help their respective music programs. Both Bands will recruit blood donors for their individual blood drives.
If the bands reach their blood drive goals, the American Red Cross will award up to $500 to each band as part of their summer scholarship program. The “winning” Band will be determined by the highest percentage of blood donors per band students. The winner will be announced at the Sept. 26 Hudson vs. Cuyahoga Falls Football game.
Interested donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate. Potential Donors must be age 16 (with a signed parental consent form); must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional eligibility criteria apply.

Can’t Donate?
In addition to encouraging individuals to donate, each band will be selling “blood drops” for a “buck” to show support for blood donors. Blood Drops will be sold at upcoming band events and at each blood drive. All proceeds will go directly to the individual bands. Blood drops will be displayed at both the Hudson and Cuyahoga Falls blood drives.
