Weathervane Playhouse announces the return of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” to the Founders Theater Nov. 20 through Dec. 22.
Show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. There also will be five weekday matinee performances at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20 and 27, and Dec. 3, 11 and 18.
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the musical parable focuses on the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Joseph is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams, and after he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.
As in previous years’ productions of the musical, the 2018 production will also employ the use of a youth chorus. Students from local schools will perform in rotation with the young actors in Weathervane’s production.
The production is sponsored by a donation from the Weathervane Volunteer Guild. “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is presented by a special arrangement with The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for children 17 and younger and may be purchased by calling (330) 836-2626 or going to www.weathervaneplayhouse.com. Standard ticketing fees apply.
