The Junior League of Akron will host its third annual Early Bird Bustle Family Fun Run/Walk Nov. 1, starting at the Old Trail School, (2315 Ira Road, in Akron) and winding through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park along the Towpath Trail. The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m., with the one-mile walk at 8:35 a.m.
Following the run, a free Family Activities Fair will take place, featuring community vendors, exercise stations, hands-on learning, face painting and crafts, among other activities. Non-perishable food items will also be collected during the event for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
Proceeds of the run will support The Junior League of Akron’s Kids in the Kitchen community project, a program designed to help address urgent issues surrounding childhood obesity and poor nutrition, by educating both children and their families. Proceeds will also benefit community outreach efforts and volunteer training for Junior League of Akron members.
