Karen Starr and her co-author, Joanna Wilson, will host a celebration around the launch of their new book, “A is for Akron,” an A to Z guide to the places and things that make Akronites smile, according to the authors.
A book release party will take place March 20 at Musica in downtown Akron, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to get a first look at the new book, and both Starr and Wilson will be available to sign copiesof the book, which will be on sale for $20.95.
The authors say the book, “is a nostalgic collection of historic places, landmarks, and one-of-a-kind things that make Akron the special place we call home. With both text and photos, the book is a reminder of Akron’s proud past and a look to its hopeful future.”
Bring your appetites to the party: the restaurant Urban Eats will be open for the event, serving food and coffee. The cash bar in Musica will also be open for drinks.
The Magnolia Photo Booth Company (Magbooth) will also be there for free souvenir photobooth photos during the event.
And after 9 p.m., the after-party begins, and Starr’s band Roxxymoron will perform.
