Lead poisoning is the No. 1 environmental threat to children. Akron-Summit County Public Library and Summit County Public Health District will present “Lead Poisoning: What We Can Do” Oct. 1, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Exhibits open at 1 p.m. The program begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium.
Find out more from experts from the Ohio Department of Health, Akron Children’s Hospital, Summit County Public Health and the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, who will discuss the latest in lead poisoning prevention.
Free lead testing of toys and dishes, lead poisoning prevention information, lead rehab grant information and library health information will be available.
2.0 hours of Continuing Education Credits are available from the Summit County Public Health District for Registered Dietitians, Licensed Social Workers and Registered Sanitarians. Training hours for counselors and social workers is available. A Certificate of Attendance will be provided.
