“Cat Lady” Trisha Yost, along with another cat lover, has been helping stray cats behind a restaurant in Summit County for the last 10 years.
When she first saw the kittens 10 years ago, Yost said she felt the need to help them. Having her own bundle of cats at home, she is the first to stop and feed any stray that she may see.
With the help of her husband, they have built four shelters for the cats which are double insulated and filled with straw to keep them warm in the cold. The cats are fed twice, daily and Trisha says she will probably never stop feeding them, as long as they still come around.
“People treat cats like they’re wild animals,” said Yost, who has even added about five or six strat cats into her home population. “Give them some food. Help them out.”
