The Millennium Fund for Children of Akron Community Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations that improve the lives of local children.
Established in 1999, the Millennium Fund for Children is a permanent endowment created through a partnership between Akron Community Foundation and the Akron Beacon Journal. Each year, a selection committee composed of fund donors recommends grants to children’s groups throughout the Beacon Journal’s circulation area. Last year, 26 Millennium Fund grants totaling $41,935 supported arts, education and health programs for local youth.
Requests for Millennium Fund for Children grants should be made online by 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1. A link to the application is available at www.akroncf.org/applymillennium.
