The North Akron Community Development Corporation is a new non-profit formed by some of the people who organized the North Hill Better Block in 2015. The group will serve North Hill, Cascade Valley and Chapel Hill districts.
The nonprofit has decided to kick off with a “birthday party” Friday, Aug. 18, 6 to 9 p.m. at North Hill’s Exchange House, 760 Elma St.
North Akron CDC’s mission is to assure a vibrant, thriving North Akron community that inspires and connects its residents while celebrating its unique diversity. The nonprofit plans to achieve its mission by focusing on business and economic development, physical infrastructure, beautification, informational events and programming.
The birthday event will take place in an “open house” format and include cake and ice cream, along with discussion about upcoming plans and ideas.
The event is free but registration is recommended. Visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/birthday-party-for-north-akron-community-development-corporation-tickets-36552517564.
