Editor’s note: – Jo McGarvey plays Dotty Otley/Mrs. Clackett in the “Noises Off,” which plays now through May 26 at Weathervane Playhouse. The play-within-a-play that takes a peek behind the curtain as a troupe of second-rate British theater actors rehearses for a show called “Nothing On.”
Weathervane Playhouse is now producing the hilarious “Noises Off” by British playwright Michael Frayn. If you love theatre, you are probably familiar with this zany romp that calls for crazy pratfalls, precise timing, and boundless energy!
I have been acting on the Weathervane stage for some 30-odd years, and an earlier production of “Noises Off” in which I played Dotty/Mrs. Clackett is part of my wonderful Weathervane experience.
But once-as-Dotty was not really enough. When auditions revealed that a number of people were looking for a second helping of my sardines, the theatre gods blessed me. I am so grateful for this opportunity to once again bring the role of Mrs. Clackett to Weathervane audiences. I, and all of our exceptionally talented cast led and inspired by our fearless director, Fred Gloor, are delighted to bring this farcical classic to joyful life once again.

So, please join us for this Weathervane production of “Noises Off” running Thursdays through Sundays from May 9 through May 26. And we hope that you’ll then agree that theatre gone wrong has never felt so right.
“Noises Off” takes place at Weathervane Playouse through May 26. Show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 to $22 and may be purchased by calling (330) 836-2626 or going to www.weathervaneplayhouse.com.
