
Do you know an artist, educator or arts advocate who makes a positive impact to promote arts and culture? If so, nominations are open for Summit Artspace’s 10th Arts Alive event, which will take place in June.
Awards include outstanding artist awards in dance, music, theatre and visual arts; lifetime achievement; emerging artist; and collaborative projects, as well as numerous advocate awards, including rising leader, volunteer, educator, patron and outreach.
The deadline to nominate someone is May 1. Final nominees will be announced on May 17.

The Arts Alive fundraiser takes place Tuesday, June 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St., in downtown Akron. The event is a celebration and fundraiser that includes food, music, entertainment and local art.
Honorary co-chairs of the event are Diana Selzer and Ace Epps. Selzer is a vice president and relationship manager with Wells Fargo Middle Market Banking Group. Epps is the community manager for Akron BMe Community and hosts “Center Talks” on WAKR. Both are dedicated community volunteers who support the arts.
Reservations are $65 per person and are on sale now. A reservation includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music, awards and – new this year – an after party that is also open to the public starting at 8 p.m. Guests will also be able to bid on unique, local art in the silent auction.
Non-event guests can attend the after party for $20 per person. There will be a cash bar open throughout the main event and after party.
There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available. The deadline to sponsor is April 30. All proceeds from the event support the galleries and programming at Summit Artspace.
