The Women of Achievement Awards, presented by Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio, honors professional women in the public and private sectors who have made an impact in their careers and their communities.
The deadline to submit nominations for Women of Achievement Awards is April 12. Finalists and nominees are recognized at the annual Women of Achievement Awards luncheon June 14, at the Hilton in Akron/Fairlawn.
Recipients may be nominated by their peers – individuals, businesses, and organizations — at womensnetworkneohio.com.
“There are so many outstanding women leaders in the Greater Akron and Northeast Ohio regions,” said Dr. Jennifer Savitski, Board President of Women’s Network. “We’re thrilled by the opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of women, to support their personal leadership journeys, and to bring to light the ways they inspire other women in our community who are embarking on their own leadership journeys.”
Awards up for nomination include:
• Emerging Leader: Honoring a young professional woman, age 25 to 39, whose contributions have impacted her industry and her community; who is a trendsetter and encourages success among women
• Dorothy O. Jackson Award: Honoring an area business or organization that has demonstrated excellence and leadership in their commitment to the empowerment of women and promotion of diversity in the workplace
• Women of Achievement: Honoring an exceptional woman selected for her history of going beyond her own personal and career accomplishments to encourage success among women, breaking down barriers, mentoring others, and taking risks to overcome
• Women of Professional Excellence: Employers are given the opportunity to honor their own women professionals who exemplify high professional standards and achievements in the workplace
“In our community, we’re so proud to be a part of the rise in the momentum of women supporting women,” said Jan Conrad, executive director of Women’s Network. “We’re looking to highlight the true leaders and connection-makers in organizations across Northeast Ohio, and we’re energized to be able to tell their stories and highlight them with our Women of Achievement Awards.”
