Troy Haslinger, founder and CEO of “Life is Good No Matter What,” turned his firsthand experience in dealing with cancer into something positive. After losing his sister in the prime of her life to cancer, he recalled her motto during her battle: “Life is Good No Matter What.”
He’s since made it his life’s goal to grant adults with advanced cancer and their loved ones an escape from their battle and diagnosis through a cherished “escape” experience.
Life Is Good No Matter What helps those who are 18 or over with stage four cancer, who do not have the financial means or energy, to take one last escape. Too many people pass every day from cancer, and many never get a chance to have one last escape to forget about the disease, if only briefly, and to have quality time with their loved ones that doesn’t revolve around cancer.
The nonprofit has an application process for those who meet the criteria for an escape package, and the board then decides on who they are able to help.
In a perfect world the organization would help everyone, but due to limited resources, the nonprofit only has the ability to help a fraction of those in need.
On Nov. 14, the organization will host a relay run starting at The Hilton in Fairlawn, 3180 West Market Street and the group is looking for donations, volunteers, sponsors and runners to help and raise awareness and $30,000 to help continue the mission of giving adults with advanced cancer an escape.
