Bounce Innovation Hub will host a free, public celebration to commemorate the opening of its newly renovated first-floor Generator space, on Wednesday, May 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. Bounce is located at 526 S. Main St. in downtown Akron. Activities throughout the day are planned to showcase the new space, programs and amenities, as well as current startups in residence.
The 27,000-square-foot first floor houses coworking, rentable office and event space; a makerspace; e-sports lab and the Remarkable Café and Coffee Shop. Available for public use, the Generator space is for entrepreneurs, small businesses, freelancers, remote workers, corporate teams, gamers, artists and makers.
It’s a modern, industrial space that captures the spirit of Akron’s past and present, designed and accented with locally made materials, artwork, furniture and furnishings.
“This grand opening and open house is our chance to show not just Akron, but all of Northeast Ohio and beyond, what Bounce has to offer our community,” said CEO Doug Weintraub. “Until now, Bounce (and formerly the Akron Global Business Accelerator) was restricted by our funding to serve a very specific type of technology-based company through our incubator and accelerator programs. The first floor allows us to throw open our doors to entrepreneurs and community members in all industries from all walks of life.”

Activities will kick off at 8 a.m. and will culminate in the grand opening and open house at 4 p.m. Registration for each activity is now open at bouncehub.org/grand-opening/. The day’s schedule includes free coworking throughout the day, morning yoga at 8 a.m., one-on-one meetings with business experts, the grand opening and open house at 4 p.m. (including hands-on activities and demos) and a software pitch event at 6 p.m.
