OSC Tech Lab, Akron’s coworking space, and ArtsNow, a nonprofit that connects arts, culture and community in Summit County, are bringing Akron’s creative communities together for a night to meet one another at an inspiring venue downtown. Akron’s creative communities are invited to mix and mingle at “Hack The Arts” at the Akron Civic Theatre May 10 at 5:30 p.m.
OSC Tech Lab and ArtsNow are co-presenting this event to help bolster the arts and technology communities in Akron. Both communities solve challenges in creative ways each day but they rarely come together to collaborate. Hack The Arts will provide the forum for creativity to thrive and new partnerships to emerge from this group of talented leaders.
“We’re bringing together two very impactful communities in Akron, which will hopefully create some spontaneous collaborations,” said Nicholas Petroski, founder of OSC Tech Lab.
“Bringing creative minds with a variety of backgrounds and skill-sets together is a powerful opportunity for Akron,” said ArtsNow Executive Director Nicole Mullet. “ArtsNow is thrilled to collaborate with the OSC Tech Lab team.”
OSC Tech Lab has been a place for Akron’s creative community to work from since January 2014. Petroski created it to fill a void in Akron where there wasn’t a creative place for entrepreneurs to work. “Akron desperately needed a place for its creative class to come together. We provide that place through the Tech Lab,” said Petroski.
