Akron Racers Pres/GM, Joey Arrietta unveiled the team’s 2014 pink jersey created by Boombah, the official supplier of uniforms to the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). Fans will get their first look at the stylish jerseys on Tuesday, June 10 when the 2013 regular season champions, the Chicago Bandits, visit Firestone Stadium. On Saturday, August 9 the Racers will conduct a silent auction at which time the jerseys will be made available to the public for bid.
“Boombah has been a tremendous league partner and each year I am particularly excited to see our pink jersey,” commented Joey Arrietta. “I am grateful to Jeff Sobotta and the crew at Boombah for providing us with this creative accent to our breast cancer program.”
The Racers are celebrating their 15th anniversary of raising money for the AGMC’s Muffins for Mammogram Program. To date the Racers have raised nearly $120,000 for under insured men and women. The money is presented annually at the WQMX Bosom Buddie dinner, auction and live concert held each October.
