Rubber City Theatre will bring the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss to life with “Seussical,” which opens Friday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. The opening performance is “pay-as-you-like-it,” which provides an opportunity for community members to see the show for free or with any donation amount of their choosing.
“Seussical” brings to life a number of notable characters, like Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo, in settings ranging from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus and the invisible world of the Whos.
The performance runs through Aug. 10, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $10 to $15.
Student rush tickets are available beginning one hour before the show: students with ID may get a ticket for $5 pending availability. On Thursdays and Sundays, anyone 18 and younger may see the show for free. Attendees under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult (pending availability). Select seats in the audience are always $10.
