The Akron RubberDucks is looking for performers for its 2019 season home games: namely, mascots and singers of the National Anthem. The team is hosting auditions for both roles, Saturday, March 16, with national anthem auditions from 10 a.m. to noon, and the mascot auditions running 1 to 2 p.m.
“Our mascots are an important part of the experience at Canal Park,” said promotions coordinator Kyle Hixenbaugh. “We will be looking for energetic, fun-loving people who love nothing more than to bringing smiles to fans’ faces!”
Candidates trying out to sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” should enter through the main administrative office entrance, at 300 S. Main St., wear appropriate clothing and be prepared to sing outside on the concourse over Canal Park’s public address system. All ages are welcome.
Pre-registration is required by contacting Hixenbaugh, by emailing [email protected] or calling (330) 253-5151 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to reserve a time slot.
Candidates should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to their secured-time slot and be ready to sing. Auditions will be cut off after 90 seconds. No tapes or recordings are required nor will be accepted.
