The Akron Racers has announced that season tickets, as well as 10-game and 5-game ticket packages, are now available for the 2016 season.
The 2016 season marks the Racers 15th season of professional fastpitch softball. Akron is the oldest existing professional fastpitch team dating back to its first team in 1999. This season will include numerous opportunities to celebrate the past 15 seasons, including its historic come-from-behind victory over the Chicago Bandits to claim Akron’s first Cowles Cup in 2005. This year, the Akron Racers will embark on a journey to chase its second title in its 15th Season of Play.
Tickets are available for purchase by calling the ticket office at (330) 376-8188. Or, for the first time ever, season tickets and mini ticket plans can be purchased online at akronracers.org. Fans may not only buy but select the seats they desire with the site’s new easy-to-use interface.
Those visiting Firestone Stadium this year will see home run champion and All-NPF outfielder Taylor Schlopy, current NPF career wins record-holder and eight-time All-NPF Pitcher Sarah Pauly, former NPF Defensive Player of the Year and Three-Time All-NPF selection Kelley Montalvo and the rest of the 2016 Akron Racers. Brian Levin and Dustin Combs return for their third season at the controls of the Racers in 2016 after having been selected the 2014 NPF Coaching Staff of the Year in their rookie season in the league.
Akron opens its home season against the Pennsylvania Rebellion June 8 for the start of a three-game series that kicks off a lengthy stretch of seven games in eight days at home for the Racers.
The Racers 25-game home schedule concludes with a two-game set against the reigning NPF regular season champions, the USSSA Pride.
