Dr. Christ spearheaded this amazing event and Akron International Friendship assisted with proving a few speakers and the teachers and volunteers made it all run smoothly.
This year, the cultures and countries spanned across America and across the world. Students visited Australia, Nicaragua, Greece, the American Frontier, Mexico and India. Students were escorted from each country by their homeroom teachers, and as each place was visited the students’ passport was stamped. The students were ushered by their travel guide, a teacher who would come on the overhead speakers and announce that it was time to visit the next destination.
In one room the curious students were able to sample foods from around the world.
Students then traveled to faraway places like Australia, and even traveled back in time when frontiers’ men had to survive while pushing west in the United States.
Drums from Africa could be heard all over the school as the African drummers demonstrated the beautiful beats. Students even had a chance to play and to dance.
In all, the students traveled to more than five different countries and have the passport stamps to prove it.
Another year went smoothly thanks to amazing staff, volunteers, teachers, and of course the amazing speakers who made this possible. A special thanks to Dr. Christ for letting us be a part of such a wonderful day.
