Since 2004, RED has enchanted audiences with her eclectic dancing. Although she has taken many different dance classes throughout her life, she is mostly self-taught with fire poi. She also dances with fire fans or palm candles. If fire is not permitted, flags, Asian fans, and/or LED poi are used.
In 2008, she had the honor of being one of 22 international artists selected to to appear in the “Circles of Light 2008: Spinning and Twirling from Around the World”.
On October, 19th, 2013, RED was involved in the Guinness World Records stunt “Most People Performing Simultaneous Full Body Burns” (21 people) as an igniter and safety.
April DeBord, RED’s alter-ego, has been a photographer for over a decade. She received her B.F.A. in Photography in 2006 from The University of Akron. She does photo retouching and photo restoration. Check out her work at:

Last but not least, she loves to paint with oils. April took several classes while at UA– and has been painting ever since!
