Shirley Ende-Saxe is a mixed-media/collage artist who has worked extensively with fiber, journal and collage processes. She has taught art in public school, university settings, summer camps, and at ArtFest camp. She believes that the process of making art taps into the kind of individual focus that is meditative and healing for any learner– no matter what the skill level or life situation. Her art uses recycled images found in old photography, vintage books and art history reproductions. She combines these with jarring, discordant images and materials to point away from the seemly and ideal and lead the viewer into a world governed by the fantastic and the miraculous.
