Children’s Concert Society (CCS), which offers free musical performances and programs for local students, will celebrate its 70th year in Summit County with an evening of Jazz featuring The Theron Brown Quartet. The event will take place Sunday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at BLU jazz (47 N. Market St.). Doors open at 5 p.m.
Also featured will be three former Scholastic Composer’s Winners—Serena Guo, from Revere Middle School, Cole Johnson from Firestone High School, and Sarah Mellinger, a sophomore at Hiram College.
The event also will feature New Orleans inspired hors d’oeuvres from the newly opened BLU Plate restaurant. The evening costs $45 and reservations my be made by calling the CCS office at 330-972-2504.
CCS sponsors a Concert Hall Series at the Civic, In-School concerts, the Scholastic Composers Contest, and a Percussion Outreach program. Please help us continue our 70 year tradition of providing live music experiences for the students of Summit County.
